TIDA-00891: The TIDA-00891 is designed to evaluate HD3SS3220 devices for UFP implementations. This reference design can also be used as a hardware reference design for any implementation using the HD3SS3220 with a USB-C™ connector. Reference design files can be provided upon request to aid PCB design with HD3SS3220. The layout files can be used as a guideline to implement the TUSB321A with illustrations of the routing/placement rules. The reference design includes on-board USB Type-A plug to connect legacy USB systems. Please note that the reference design may include test components for evaluation purposes not applicable for production.

TIDA-00624: This addapter converts a USB standard host type-A port to Type-C DFP (downstream-facing port) with support for default, 1.5 A and 3.0A VBUS current levels. The TUSB2522 simplifies the design by integrating 2:1 USB 3.1 (up to 10 Gbps) mux with a DFP controller to monitor the Type-C configuration channel (CC) pins to determine plug orientation for mux selection and device attachment for controlling VCONN and VBUS power switches.

The system solution emulates a downstream facing port (DFP) and is able to detect the connection of an upstream facing port (UFP) device. The flexible VBUS protection with audio accessory functionality is achievable within a 20 mm x 20 mm, four-layer, single-sided solution.
