PMP10110.2: The PMP10110 design converts the universal input AC voltage to isolated 17V...30V@6A and is suitable to charge lead-acid or Li-Ion batteries. The converter is a constant-V and constant-I genarator and the set points for output voltage (charge level) and current are settable by means of two PWM signals. The first stage is a PFC boost while the isolation ad current stabilization is performed by DC-DC half bridge stage. An isolated quasi-resonant flyback converter supplies all internal voltages and provide some extra current for external loads (fan or analog section), in details 12V@400mA and 5V@300mA.

PMP9127: This reference design generates a 28V/5A output from a 36V to 75V telecom input. The UCC2897A controls an active clamp forward converter power stage. The output is adjustable within a 22V to 32V range. The UCC27511 is used to drive synchronous rectifiers, and provides for a highly efficient design. This design is laid out on a circuit board with pin placement that is compatible with a 1/4 brick footprint and achieves efficiencies over to 94%. It uses only surface mount components, including ceramic output capacitors.

PMP7246: This is a 350W High Speed Full Bridge Phase Shift ZVT Synchronous Rectification DC/DC reference design. It is built for telecom applications to supply a RF Power Amplifier stage. The power train is capable of 8 A with convection only cooling and 10 A with moderate fan cooling (~200 LFM). The Test Report includes Thermal images for both cases. While the design shows a 28 pin MSP430 as the host, any processor with SMBus capability will work. A 5/12V 2A auxiliary converter using TPS54335, and 5V 4A with TPS40170 with 2x CSD18504 are provided. For the two USB ports, the design provides TPS2561A for power switching and TPS2513A for control. A linear TPS70933 provides the 3.3V for the MSP430 and interface signals. A rich Test Interface allows full testing of hardware in the absence of software and then provides multiple interface choices for software development.

TIDA-00412: DC-DC power converter with digital control using UCD3138CC64EVM-030 daughter-card. The daughter-card with preloaded firmware providing the required control functions for a Phase Shift Full Bridge converter. The TIDA-00412 (UCD3138PSFBEVM-027) accepts a DC input from 370 to 400 VDC, and outputs a typical 12 VDC with full-load output power at 360 W, or full output current of 30 A.
Universal AC Input 150W Single String 200V/700mA Output LLC Converter without CT
PMP4350: The reference design is a high effiency (>94%) isolated AC/DC single string output LED lighting solution for high watt (>100W) general LED lighting. The topology uses Transition Mode (TM) PFC plus LLC control, which can support PWM dimming and analog dimming on the output side. The target application for this reference design is TV LED backlight, outdoor and high-bay general LED lighting. CT is eliminated in the design and the PSR controller UCC28700 is used for aux power in order to reduce overall cost.

PMP9490: PMP9490 is a 225W four Switch Buck –Boost Design utilizing best in Class Synchronous Buck Boost Converter LM5175. PMP5364: The PMP5364 reference design provides 5V at 20A (100W) from a standard 48V telecom input with up to 95% efficiency. This design uses the UCC2897A active clamp controller along with TI NexFET synchronous rectifiers. The low Rdson of the CSD17301Q5A reduces conduction losses and die area of the synchronous rectifiers. The circuit is built in an industry standard 1/4 brick footprint.
100VAC-265VAC 100W High Bay LED Lighting (80V @ 350mA)
PMP4862.2: The PMP4862 reference design drives three separate LED strings (up to 77V) at 350mA from a universal AC input. The UCC28810 is used in a PFC-Flyback configuration to provide power factor correction and isolation at the same time. Each LED driver uses one TPS40210 to control the individual LED current. PWM dimming, ON/OFF control, current monitoring, and a trim function are all provided for each individual LED string. The PFC-flyback is over 87% efficient, while the buck LED drivers are over 92% efficient. The overall efficiency is over 80%.

PMP10291: This non-isolated Boost Converter delivers a constant current of 2.8A into 10 series white LEDs from a 24V input voltage source. Open LED circuitry protects the converter from possible damage from an overvoltage condition. This converter offers an extremely high effciency of greater than 96% while using low cost components.
48V Input 3.3V/30A with Output Pre-bias
PMP5997: This reference design generates a 3.3V/100W output from a standard 48V telecom input and allows for a pre-biased output. The UCC2897A controls operation of the active clamp power stage. The drive signal for the synchronous rectifiers is sent to the secondary side through an ISO7220 digital isolator. This drive signal is blanked out during startup to allow for a pre-biased output. This design achieves efficiencies over 92% and is built on a standard ¼ brick footprint.

Serial Interface Dual 8-Channel Relay, LED, Stepper Driver
TIDA-00117: This reference design includes dual DRV8860 and an MSP430 value line MCU to provide 16-channel low side driver for Relays, LEDs, and Unipolar steppers. The solution suports voltage range from 8V to 38V, 200mA current for each channel, parallel outputs, protection of short condition and open load detection. Serial interface and daisy chain connection of DRV8860 give the most benefits on minimum input IOs and extending the output channels easily. An innovative energizing time and internal automatic PWM duty control provide obvious energy saving function especially for relay and solenoid driving. The PWM duty control also can be used for LED brightness control. Full and half step unipolar stepper motor control logic is also included in this design. The drive stage has integrated protection from short-circuit, under voltage, and over-temperature.

120V AC Input 200W Interleaved Flyback for Battery Charging Applications
TIDA-00200: The TI Design TIDA-00200 proposes an interleaved flyback topology for battery charger applications that require an output power level of ~200W with a minimized bill of material. Besides the actual electronic components the efforts for cooling are a major contributor to the overall design cost. By taking advantage of the LM5032 High Voltage Dual Interleaved Current Mode Controller the design accomplishes great efficiency of 90% at full load and at the same time spreads out the heat for greatly reduced cooling efforts. A fan is typically not needed; the need for smaller form factor heat sinks provides additional design flexibility.

Ultra-Wide Input Voltage Range PSR Flyback Converter Reference Design

PMP9464: The reference design PMP9464 utilizes the LMZ31530, a 30A SIMPLE SWITCHER® Power Module. The LMZ31530 SIMPLE SWITCHER® power module is an easy-to-use integrated power solution that combines a 30-A DC/DC converter with power MOSFETs, a shielded inductor, and passives into a low profile, QFN package. This design has a LM25056 on the front end. The LM25056 combines high performance analog and digital technology with a PMBus compliant SMBus/I2C interface to accurately measure the operating conditions of electrical systems including computing and storage blades connected to a backplane power bus. This allows the user to monitor the real time values of Vin, Iin, Pin and Pout; as well as temperature and peak power. These values are reported via PMBus™/SMBus™/I2C. PMP9464 also enables the user to margin the output voltage setting, by slewing it up or down. This is done with the LM10011 VID programmable current DAC. The LP2951 supplies a 3.3V rail for the LM3881 power sequencer. The LM3881 sequencer can be used for sequencing other off board power supplies.
