The power supply has a pre-boost stage for cold crank and start-stop operation and two buck regulators. The pre-boost stage features the LM3481 boost controller and will start to operate and regulate a 9.5V output when the input voltage drops below 9.5V. It makes the design a wide input voltage range of 4.5V to 38V suitable for 12V automotive battery systems. The design has two buck regulators following the pre-boost to generate 3 output voltages: the first stage buck generates a 5V, 2A output using the LM26003, and the second stage generates two outputs of 2.8V, 2A and 1.8V, 2A using the LM26420 (the max output power is 15W). TIDA-00143: This TIDA-00143 reference design is a BLDC motor controller and is designed to operate from a single 12V (nominal) power supply which can vary over a wide range of voltages as found in typical automotive applications. The size and layout of the board is intended to facilitate evaluation of the drive electronics and firmware, with easy access to key signals on individual test points. Connection to a wide variety of motors is possible using either the 3-contact connector or by soldering motor phase wires to plated-through holes in the board. The 12Vdc power is fused to prevent damage to the board or to bench power supplies in case of a motor fault during testing. Command and status of the motor can be communicated through the standard JTAG connector, or through PWM input and output signals. Inverter current is measured on both DC positive and DC negative bus using shunt resistors. Current on DC positive bus is measured using INA170 which is powered by low side switched buck converter. Current on DC negative bus is sensed using precision opamp’s. The difference between the two measured currents is compared against a fixed threshold to determine the ground fault condition using high speed comparators.

Automotive Range Boost Converter Drives Two Strings of LEDs Reference Design
PMP9010: This wide input voltage range boost operates from an input of 9V - 32V and regulates current in two strings of 13 LEDs. A second control loop monitors and regulates the input current during drop outs or faults. Discrete linear regulators at the bottom of each string control the individual string current while feedback minimizes the output voltage based on the LED voltage mismatch or shorts. This low cost design operates at near 94% efficiency.

The UCC2897A is used to control an active clamp forward converter. Self-driven synchronous rectifiers allow for 91% efficiency. An accurate current limit is provided by directly sensing the output current. A clock pulse output is also provided for synchronizing with other converters.

The design accepts an input voltage of 4.5Vin to 20Vin and provides the outputs of 3.3V @ 1.0A, 2.5V @ 1.0A, 1.8V @ 1.0A, and 5V @ 100mA. It features a small size and is an inexpensive and more efficient solution customized for ADAS and other Automotive related applications. The Board dimension of PMP9492 PCB is 2600mil × 4000mil. Four layer PCB was used for the design.

PMP10630: The PMP10630 reference design is a complete high density power solution for Xilinx® Kintex® UltraScale™ XCKU040 FPGA. This design uses an optimal combination of SIMPLE SWITCHER® modules and LDOs to provide all the necessary voltage rails in a small solution size of 36 x 43 mm (1.4 x 1.7 inch). The design includes the LMZ31704 LMZ3 series module to power the core rail and three LMZ21700/1 Nano series modules. The design manages the proper power sequencing using LM3880 sequencer, and it also has an optional DDR3 memory power supply featuring the LP2998 DDR termination regulator. The reference design takes 12V DC input voltage, and the total output power is 6W.
