High-Eff 2Stage Univ Input Pwr Supply Using Trans Mode PFC/LLC Resonant Conv Reference Design
PMP8920: Low EMI, high efficiency, high power factor and reliable power supply are main focus of the PMP8920 design for telecom applications. Transient mode (TM) power factor correction (PFC) with UCC28051 and LLC series resonant converter (SRC) with UCC25600 are applied in PMP8911. In addition, synchronous rectifier (SR) IC UCC24610 is applied to LLC output rectifier stage. Low EMI is expected with zero voltage switching on TM-PFC and LLC-SRC switches. An overall 91% efficiency is achieved at 100W full load. In addition, several protections are embedded into this design which includes input under-voltage protection, input over-voltage protection, output over-voltage protection, and output hic-cup over-power protection.
20W Industrial Power Supply
PMP10559: PMP10559 is a non-sync isolated Flybuck-boost converter with a negative primary voltage. The power supply has a synchronous buck regulator, LM5160, and a versa pack transformer. The design accepts an input voltage of 18V to 30V, and outputs 30V, capable of providing 0.67A of current to the load, making it suitable for 24V input industrial application. The Fly-Buck topology can regulate the secondary side outputs without opto-coupler or aux winding, and is capable of achieving good regulation within ±5%. With LM5160's Constan On-Time control, no loop compensation is required, which simplifies the design and helps reducing the external part count and BOM cost.
SEPIC Converter Regulates 0.5A in LED String Reference Design
PMP8943: This wide input voltage range SEPIC operates from an input of 6V - 36V and regulates the current in a string of 8 LEDs to 0.5A. An external PWM input allows dimming over a wide duty cycle.

The design accepts an input voltage of 18V to 30V, and outputs 5V, capable of providing 3A of current to the load, making it suitable for 24V input industrial application. The Fly-Buck topology can regulate the secondary side outputs without opto-coupler or aux winding, and is capable of achieving good regulation within ±5%. With LM5160's Constan On-Time control, no loop compensation is required, which simplifies the design and helps reducing the external part count and BOM cost.
Battery Powered Boost Converter Delivers 120Vdc @ 10mA Reference Design
PMP8956: This design is driven by the LM3481. The LM3481 is a versatile Low-Side N-FET high performance controller for switching regulators. The switching frequency of the LM3481 can be adjusted to any value between 100 kHz and 1 MHz by using a single external resistor or by synchronizing it to an external clock. The LM3481 has built in protection features such as thermal shutdown, short-circuit protection and over voltage protection. Power saving shutdown mode reduces the total supply current to 5µA and allows power supply sequencing.
